- CAPI - What it is, What are the advantages and disadvantages, examples and major users.
- BLAISE - Introduction to the program and its uses, practical development of a questionnaire; and input of responses
- Interviewing Video - Social and Community Planning Research (now NATCEN) with comments on technique
- Guest speaker from survey organisation- Providing an in-depth explanation of how interviewers are briefed, the problems they encounter and insight in to the whole interview process
Fieldwork
Most applicants will have the opportunity to shadow a survey interviewer, generally arranged close to the applicants home base.
The applicants observe first-hand, how a survey questionnaire is carried out in a respondents home and how interviewers handle the varied circumstances they encounter.
