Book a place on a Survey Skills workshop

To reserve a place on one of the Survey Skills one-day workshops, complete the booking form and send to Survey Skills.

Once the form has been received, Survey Skills will confirm your reservation and send further details about the programme and the venue for the training. The workshop fee is:

  • £20 per day for UK-registered students, ESRC funded researchers and researchers from third sector organisations (voluntary and charities)
  • £35 per day for staff from UK academic institutions (including research centres)
  • £50 per day for staff from Central and Local Government, public sector and commercial researchers

The workshop fee includes course materials, lunch and morning and afternoon tea, but not accommodation and travel which needs to be arranged by the participant. Those who are unwaged or unable to receive funding to cover travel can apply for travel support to Bev Botting.

Terms and Conditions

Workshops

Workshops are non-residential but a lunch and tea/coffee is provided.

Fees are payable in full before the workshop date. If payment has not been received your place will automatically be allocated to someone from the waiting list.

Cancellation policy

Whether payment has been received or not you will be liable for the whole fee unless Survey Skills receive written notification before the event. If Survey Skills receive written notification, 10 per cent of the workshop price will be charged as an administration fee. Verbal cancellation will not be accepted, but you may delegate a colleague to attend in your place rather then forfeit the full course fee or arrange a transfer to the next available date or another course (although this is done at our discretion). No refunds will be made for non-attendance on the day, except in exceptional circumstances and then only at the discretion of the Director of NatCen Learning. In such circumstances write to the Director, giving full details of why you were unable to attend and enclose any supporting documentation, e.g. a doctor's note.

The Survey Skills programme reserves the right to change the content and timing of the workshop, the speakers and the date and venue due to reasons beyond their control. In the unlikely event that the workshop is cancelled, NatCen Learning will refund the full amount and disclaim any further liability. Where a workshop is cancelled with less than four weeks notice, and only if confirmed participants can provide evidence that they have incurred non-refundable costs in advanced booking for travel expenses, the Director of NatCen Learning will consider applications for a refund of those costs.
